The Rainbow Room (Preschool) room provides a quality learning program which caters to the individual needs, interests and strengths of each child. The foundation of our program is the Early Years Learning Framework which is recognized nationally, but the core of our program is inspired by the children and families of our service.
The Rainbow Room teachers are qualified professionals who are passionate about the educational program they deliver each day. The team believes that children need to be respected for who they are and what they are capable of doing, encouraged to have a go even if mistakes are made: often mistakes create opportunities for learning. This is the room where the children are encouraged to develop skills required for “big school.” The children gain knowledge on how to be an individual, how to work with others, self help, research, investigate, problem solve and express their thoughts. Numeracy and literacy awareness is incorporated throughout the program.
The outdoor area is natural and encourages exploration, curiosity and imagination. The frog pond is always of interest and offers opportunity for the children to see the life cycle of the frog first hand. The outdoor area continually provides a variety of experiences to engage the children. Climbing, jumping, cooking, sand play, gardening, trucks for physical experiences and quiet places for reading, painting, thinking, chatting with friends or just some “me time.” |
